Happy Monday?!?
Ok. I'll admit it. I stayed up way too late watching the Academy Awards last night. Yes, the entire thing. And yes, I know, it's super embarrassing, but I won't make any excuses. I love movies, and I still find myself wrapped up in the self-indulgent spectacle of it all. Judge me if you must.

Last weekend, claass HAUS took a field trip to one of the best flea market/antique shops/centers of vintage kitsch in North Carolina, Sleepy Poet Antique Mall, and per usual, the place was FILLED with amazing furniture and art objects for the modern design seeker. Here are just a few of my favorites. Over here at claass HAUS, we are giving one of our bathrooms a little "refresh," meaning some new paint, a new light, and whatever else I can find to spruce the place up a bit. Admittedly, these changes aren't much, but hopefully they will be just enough to make our powder room more livable until a larger construction project is feasible.
Happy Birthday Louis Kahn! Oh, and Happy President’s Day too. In honor of the Oscars next weekend, and the odds on favorite for Best Picture, La La Land, I give you Watts Towers- L.A. ICON, La La Land scene stealer, and one of my favorite places I haven't had the pleasure of visiting (yet). I’m kind of having an Eichler moment today. You know that feeling when you get lost in photograph after photograph of stunning architecture, and then you can’t stop thinking about anything else? During my usual morning article review, I came across this very droolworthy playground that is both design centric and kid friendly. So I started wondering what other beautiful stuff is out there for the well-manicured lawns of architecture- obsessed families.
This is what I found. And I want every single one. Happy Valentine’s Day!
My toddler loves cookies. He also loves cars. Luckily for him, he’s getting both for Valentine’s Day. This year, my little guy will be partying with his preschool pals, so I made him these cute (and easy) cards to hand out at school. It's midMOD Monday, and since tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, this one will focus on a real heartbreaker.
Yesterday I posted a round of books that would make any kitchen look (and smell) amazing. Today? How about a few books to make your coffee table look a little brighter (and smarter).
Here are three design/architecture books that I really, really want. Like right now. |
