Happy St. Patrick's Day (and Happy Friday!) For the love of the Irish, today I bring you a few things that are both MODERN and GREEN. They're pretty perfect for the holiday or really, any day, since the Pantone Color of the year just so happens to be "Greenery." Green signals renewal, restoration, and "new beginnings." So go ahead and give your house a little spring 'refresh' with something green. By the way, I just ordered the Urban Jungle book as a St. Patrick's Day gift to myself (if only I needed another book/another incentive to buy random houseplants). So I see A LOT more green coming your way.
And keeping with the green design theme (as well as carrying on the Columbus, Indiana thread from the last post), cheers to my favorite Irish-American architect, Kevin Roche. Aren't familiar with Roche? Well, remember the ubiquitous hotel atrium? Love green roofs? Thank Kevin Roche and his brand of innovative, flexible, and enduring modernism. Read more about Roche here, he's now 94 years young and has had one heck of a career.
