It’s not often that famous architects and their iconic work get the Hollywood treatment, so you can imagine my utter excitement when I read that the Farnsworth House, Mies van der Rohe’s domestic masterpiece, is becoming a studio picture. Yes. That's right. A movie about building a house. Not just any house, but a house that this architectural historian's dreams are made of. And for a little icing on that glass box cake, Jeff Bridges and Maggie Gyllenhal are teaming up to star in the flick. Fingers crossed that the movie will be as dramatic as the house itself.
So in honor of the Mies movie and the great glass house on stilts, I’ve compiled a few items for your own modern home.

Barcelona Chair One of my top five dream pieces of furniture, I definitely can't justify the $5,000+ at this point in my life (or probably ever), but it is Knoll produced, and IT'S BEAUTIFUL. I just couldn't do a Mies post without it.
Terreno Leather Chair So this one isn't Mies, but it definitely seems inspired by him and at $799, it's much easier on your wallet. Classic midcentury design? Check.
